About NRCan’s Deep Retrofit Accelerator Initiative (DRAI)
Natural Resources Canada’s Deep Retrofit Accelerator provides funding to organizations that help building owners in the development of deep retrofits in commercial, institutional, and mid- or high-rise multi-unit residential buildings in Canada.
Purpose Accelerator Participants
Retrofits Now features the strategies and approaches used by real-world projects. These building owners worked with Purpose Building to implement full-cycle deep retrofits, identifying candidate buildings for near-term decarbonization to deep retrofits, completing Zero Carbon
Transition Plans, and designing and implementing identified retrofits.
In addition to these building owners, CAGBC and Purpose Building hosted stakeholder sessions throughout 2024. These sessions reached 487 industry members from both the private and public sector, exploring market barriers and opportunities for deep retrofit planning and implementation. The information gleaned from these sessions informs the tools and resources provided on Retrofits Now.
